Malice Aforethought. Chapter 6.

The Masterplan.

 

Since Sathya grew-up in a village, he had a fair amount of knowledge and curiosity in different plants. As a kid he had known about Minolta, Calotropis, Plumeria, Nerium, Datura, etc.  These are common flowering plants which not many know are poisonous and if some chemicals were added to it, the composition could be fatal. Having his close friends from Ashram working in the chemical factory of Ashok Kapadia did help Sathya to prove later that the poison was made with poisonous flowers and with the help of a chemical composition found in the laboratory of the factory.

Satya had gulped down his drinks at one go before letting the ice melt, while Rishi sipped his drinks slowly as usual, which got him consume the melted water of poisonous ice.

 

When Rishi was in the initial level of being intoxicated, in his drowsiness Sathya got him sign all the legal papers on transferring funds to Umeed Foundation saying that they are routine permission papers regarding his Lounge Bar.

 

Over the years Rishi had become very close and dependent on Satya due to which Vijay's insecurities had begun to arise. This started creating a rift between both. Vijay worked in the Chemical factory of Kapadia. Due to this cold war between them, Vijay started neglecting his work and was suspended for a month. Mr. Kapadia used this against Vijay now. He twisted the real reason by saying Vijay was suspended earlier from his chemical factory for stealing the chemicals from the factory and selling it in black trade. This acted like a lead to the cops on the whereabouts of the poison. 

 

Satya had volunteered in getting the CCTV camera's fixed in the appropriate areas of the '360 degrees lounge bar'. Since the bar was not opened to public yet, the connection to the cameras were given only the morning of the day when they planned to meet. Rather the day when Satya's long-awaited plan, trapping both Rishi and Vijay would take place.

 

The day before the planned evening, when the CCTV cameras were not connected, Satya went to the bar to discuss some legalities with Rishi related to the business as a lawyer. While Rishi was busy screening the documents, Satya excused himself and entered the kitchen. He emptied the ice tray and poured just a little of the concentrated translucent poison in all the sections of the tray, when frozen it would almost give a look that the tray is empty. Next morning after the cameras were connected, on Satya's suggestion, Rishi requested Vijay to make the necessary arrangements for the evening jam session.

Vijay checked the kitchen, the bar and finally the refrigerator. Seeing the ice tray 'empty', he filled it with water and kept it in the freezer. The camera position was such that it captured just the back of Vijay while he was filling the water and placing the ice tray in the freezer. 

 

Evening when Vijay was getting ready to meet Rishi, he received a mysterious call from a lady 'Maya' who had a very sensuous voice. Maya told him that she followed him on a social site and was crazy about him. After she was successful in making Vijay feel great about himself, she told him that she would be traveling back to her hometown the next day and would love to meet him tonight for dinner. Mesmerized by her voice, Vijay readily agreed to meet her. He gave some fake excuse to Rishi and excitedly waited for Maya at the decided Restaurant for dinner. Only to find no one coming till almost midnight, he left the place disappointed and dejected.

 

Later during investigation when Vijay confesses to the cops the true reason of the last-minute cancelling of the plan, the cops take the number from his incoming calls and dialed back to cross-check. Vijay is outrageous to learn that the number belongs to a Travel Agency. Their one of the staff Maya did agree on calling Vijay the day of Rishi's death but to only give information on their Europe tours. Vijay was in their caller list along with many other prospective clients. Vijay till the end kept wondering, who was this, Maya?

 

Had Sathya tried to trap Vijay by himself, the reasons and the evidence that he had, wouldn't have been strong enough to create a good fake case against Vijay for Rishi's death. He needed a strong support for the same. With Mr. Ashok Kapadia's backing, it became possible.

Mr. Kapadia a big man, known not only for his wealth and status but also for his social work, the police had great respect for him. He falsely framed Vijay stating the reasons as jealousy between families, blackmailing, CCTV footage of him filling the ice tray, his last-minute false excuse for not going for drinks, and his attempts to steal chemicals from factory.

Unveiling Sathya's secret to Ashok Kapadia
